Here is the fastest known stalemate in chess. What it means is that this the shortest game that ends in a draw by stalemate. This is one of the unique chess records & was composed by Sam Loyd. If you want, you can also open up your chessboard & try to find a stalemate with the least number of moves possible. The moves need not necessarily be the best since the objective is not to win the game, but to achieve a stalemate. There were also 2 chess games played in this fashion. Obviously, they were pre-planned. Here are the games for your reference: Johan Upmark vs Robin Johansson, 1995 (English opening) & Hohmeister vs Frank, 1993 (Englund Gambit).
For those who don’t know, Stalemate is a situation in the game of chess where the player whose turn it is to move, is not in check, but has no legal move. The rules of chess provide that when stalemate occurs, the game ends as a draw. Anyway, I also have an interesting chess puzzle for you all. Let’s see if you can solve that.
