This week’s edition of the Master Chess Web Show featured a return of special guest, GM Ray Keene, who gave us some fascinating insights into the 1978 World Championship match in Baguio City. This was the match in which Victor Korchnoi, who had recently defected from the USSR, faced the then Soviet World Champion, Anatoly Karpov. In a controversy filled encounter Korchnoi came within a whisker of unseating Karpov as World Champion:
